Activities
St Peter’s has a very active community, and we hold a number of regular events. We are sure you will find something enjoyable to get involved in.
Bible study and discussion group - Paused for Covid
Held in the meeting room on Wednesday mornings at 9.30am on the first and third Wednesday of the month. This is followed by a visit to the Can Do Cafe for fellowship and refreshments.
Ladies fellowship
Our ladies fellowship group is held in St Peter’s hall on the third Wednesday of every month at 1.30pm. Visitors are most welcome. Once a year, the Lavington Ladies Fellowship holds a fundraising morning tea which is wonderfully supported by the community. Invitations are sent to neighbouring Lutheran churches, as well as other local churches.
Operation Christmas Child – Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes
We have a number of enthusiastic people who gather during the year to plan, prepare and pack shoeboxes for children living in poverty and kids who have never received a Christmas gift. To raise funds to post the shoeboxes, St Peter’s holds an Oktoberfest luncheon. See our event calendar for this fun event.
Oktoberfest
Our annual Oktoberfest luncheon is eagerly anticipated by members and their families and friends. Watch for news announcements and see our events calendar. Be sure to put this date in your diary as you do not want to miss out on an enjoyable and relaxing afternoon with a buffet of tempting German foods, not to mention that dessert lovers will be impressed! BYO drinks.
Ladies retreat
A number of ladies from St Peter’s participate every year in the Lutheran Women of NSW Ladies Retreat held at Warrambui Retreat and Conference Centre. We usually have seats available for anyone who’d like to join in the retreat activities.
Meals on Wheels
St Peter’s enjoys taking part in delivering Meals on Wheels for one week in a six-week roster.
Market Day
Market Day is a fun day where the whole congregation gets involved. It is held in the weeks prior to Easter. We have stalls selling cakes, jams, relishes, plants, books, second-hand goods and clothing. Morning tea and BBQ food can be purchased to maintain your stamina!
Food donations to the Hub
Food donations are collected as part of our regular offerings. They are delivered to the Hub – a centre which provides assistance, information and advice for people in our community needing support.
